Future kayaking trips

I just received the newest MEC catalogue and I saw a picture of someone sea kayaking amongst icebergs. I’m thinking that would be pretty interesting. So over the next year or so I guess I’ll have to start investigating where people go for sea kayaking. A quick google search brings up a lot of hits on trips along the coast of BC. The big draw seems to be kayaking with Orcas.

I think it would be easy to find solid information for kayaking close to Vancouver. I’m wondering more about other more exotic trips… Alaska, Baja, Hudson’s Bay?, Newfoundland, etc. If I find anything interesting I’ll probably write about it here, in case someone reading is interested.

There is a sea kayaking club in Vancouver you might want to look into. They organize all kinds of trips and do a weekly paddle. Gary can give you all the info. I think he and Karina are thinking of joining it themselves.

Regarding Frenchie’s comment, I heard of a kayak club in Vancouver. I wonder if it’s the same one. And I’d like to take family trips when the kids are able to around the islands and kayak with the Orcas, as well as kayak/camping.
I don’t know if you remember Doug, when were in Mexico PV there was a couple who talked about kayaking the Baja strip. That’s something I’d like to look into. Definitely in BC itself, there are so many places to explore.
    I’m very excited about this.
