New Mountain Bike

I picked up a new mountain bike on the weekend. I had finally heard back from my insurance company with regards to the garage theft, and everything was okayed to get a new bike.

Once again, I bought the bike from WestPoint Cycles.

BTW, if you are a bike owner, Federation Insurance is the way to go because they don’t have any special limits or restrictions on bikes. I think they are now called Economical Insurance.

  1. first off, love the blog 🙂 especially the header image rotation.

i’m still new to wordpress, but picking things up slowly. when you have a moment to spare, could help me out with a few things?

i have K2 installed, up and running, and i just wanted how you got it to display as it is on your blog now. did you modify the .png files? change the page width? if yes, could you please email me the modded image files? the default k2 is nice, but i love what you have here 🙂 would really appreciate if you could help me learn how over an email.

many thanks, n have a good one! 😀

  2. ‘sup n-dawg.

I’ll get you more info on the blog in a couple days, when I get a chance to sit down and write some stuff out. As far as I can remember, most of what you see here is just a modified style of K2.

The rotating header is done with Automatic’s image rotator at http://automaticlabs.com/products/rotator I replace the header image (for example, header.jpg) with rotate.php. voila.

Anyways, this stuff will be clearer once you see the files. It’s all fairly simple, but I remember that it took me a lot of hours to finish it. Things like finding the correct style to modify in order for certain text to change color can take a long time.

Here are two very usefull tips:
    1. use firefox and download the web developer extension from: http://chrispederick.com/work/webdeveloper/ this will help you quickly see changes that you make to your css files
    2. download and install the latest and greatest version of wordpress before you start (in case you originally downloaded it a while ago). This also goes for other software you may integrate into your blog such as Gallery2.
