GreenMath is a website put together to help math teachers explore environmental issues in their classrooms. Mathematics is often treated as its own isolated community and research shows that students can have improved learning when cultural and global boundaries are removed. Our goal is engage more students in mathematics by:

• Infusing environmental perspectives in the classroom
• promoting the use of both ideas and actions in math education
• encouraging students to take ownership in their numeracy

GreenMath would like to help this endeavour by creating a space that has lesson plans and ideas that relate math and the environment, as well as offering support and background materials to help math teachers come up with their own ideas and modifications on math activities and the environment.
